Welcome to our website! We are excited about our plans for the "Palestine Old Town Reunion," and we hope that you and your family have already finalized your plans to join us July 18-20, 2014. We have created this "meeting place" in order to keep everyone informed, so be sure to visit from time to time for the latest news.
The 2014 reunion will be a great opportunity to celebrate the first African-American community in Palestine. The community has such a rich history, and its citizens have greatly contributed to making it a wonderful city in which to call "home." With the many events that have been planned, the reunion promises to be a weekend that can be celebrated by the entire city.
We are pleased to announce that former Old Town resident Dr. Frank L. Joe, Jr. will be our keynote speaker during "The Legacy Banquet" on Saturday, July 19. Our theme will be "New Vines from Strong Roots."
Our final response deadline was July 5. While reserved seating for the banquet is at a near sellout, we are working to accommodate as many guests as possible in the remaining seats. No additional seating will be made available.
Ticket purchases for the catered Summer Festival will be available until July 17. Guests may purchase pre-sale tickets for the After-Party until July 17. This will be the only event where tickets may be purchased at the door.
We are truly pleased to announce that the dedication of the William Freeman Texas Historical Marker will take place on Saturday, July 19 at 9:30 a.m. Please see the agenda for complete details.
Thank you to our family and friends! We are overwhelmed at the enthusiasm and response to the reunion. We look forward to seeing everyone there! If you should have any questions, or if we can provide assistance in any way, please contact us at either number below, or write to:
